ABOUT
INSPIRING AUSTRALIANS TO GIVE BACK.
GivingTuesday Australia is a campaign which celebrates and enhances generosity in our communities. Every year, not-for-profits give time and energy to people, animals, and the environment, taking care of their health and well-being. Individuals generously give their time, money, goods and voices to ensure not-for-profits can continue their important work. Businesses give their expertise and resources to help support the communities they work in.

GivingTuesday is a day where every part of a community comes together collaborate and continue the support needed, to ensure healthy and happy communities in Australia.
HARNESSING THE POWER OF CONNECTION.
GivingTuesday is fueled by the power of social media and the generosity of people. The campaign provides a platform for individuals to participate in and encourage the donation of time, money, goods and voices to address local challenges.
GivingTuesday also allows not-for-profits, community organisations, charities, businesses and schools to collaborate and lead the GivingTuesday campaign in the way that best suits their communities. The day is used by organisations as an opportunity to encourage and amplify the actions of individuals.
BRINGING THE WORLD TOGETHER.
GivingTuesday started in New York’s 92nd Street Y in 2012, which served as the catalyst and incubator for GivingTuesday, with the United Nations Foundation providing their strategic and communications expertise. In 2013, Australia was invited to join the campaign, and the GivingTuesday message started spreading across Australian communities.
Since then, GivingTuesday has spread to more than 50 countries across the world. Each country participates on the same day, which brings together individuals and communities from across the world to celebrate generosity together.
